Estimated Reading Time: 52 seconds.
One of the productivity experiments I’m conducting over the course of this year is to write 200,000 words over 12 months. That’s a lot of words, but so far I’m on track – in May I wrote 21,843 words, which according to one stat, is about one-third of a novel.
Writing hasn’t been a struggle for me so far. Every day I do my best to make original, valuable stuff for this project. That takes time and effort, but every day I simply soak in as much as I can, and then write about it.
Finding the motivation to write a lot, every day, is 10x easier since my actions are all aligned to a purpose that I truly believe in: becoming more productive, and helping other people become more productive. In other words, in addition to managing my time, I’m managing my energy, and it’s working.
I guess we’ll see how the next 11 months go, but so far it’s gone swimmingly. I know this has been a pretty full-of-myself blog post, but while I am going to write about the places I have failed, writing has been one of the places I’ve found a lot of success.
Thanks for reading my thinkwords.
