Takeaway: Productivity tactics only work when you also put in the work.

Estimated Reading Time: 36s.

Productivity tactics are great, and the good ones will help you get your work done faster and better. But at the same time, you have to do the work. If you don’t make back all of the time you spent reading about productivity tactics—and then some—you’re really just looking at “productivity porn.” (I’ve fallen into this trap more than once before. So have most of the productivity writers I know—at least the ones who are open enough to admit it.)

The best productivity hacks out there, and most of the ones I write about on this site, will help you accomplish more in less time. But for them to be successful, don’t forget that you also have to do the work.
